Coaster Day, July 29th

July 29th is Coaster Day!

Join us on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 for Coaster Day!  Locomotive 2103 will lead all train rides for the day.  Golden State train rides depart the Campo Depot at 10:30am, 12 noon and 3pm.   2103 will also lead its first ever Sunset Special ride at 7pm.  Don’t miss out!

Tickets can be purchased online at psrm.org or at the Gift Shop upon arrival.

The September Sunset Special

The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum is excited to announce the return of the Sunset Special, Saturdays at 6:30pm all September long!

Beat the heat and enjoy a beautiful sunset ride through East County’s rugged back country.  Passengers depart from the Campo Depot for the approximately 45-minute ride after visiting the Museum’s gift shop and ticket office. This is one special experience you won’t want to miss.

This is one of the Museum’s most popular train ride offerings, so purchase your tickets before they’re gone!

All train rides depart from our Campo location. Reserved tickets must be picked up or tickets purchased from the Campo Depot located at 750 Depot St., Campo, CA 91906 at least 15 minutes before scheduled departure. Trains leave promptly at scheduled departure times.  Trains depart every Saturday at 6:30pm during the month of September.

Campo Days are Almost Here! May 6-7, 2023

 

Experience the history and heritage of San Diego’s East County during Campo Days May 6 & 7, 2023.

Explore four museums, including the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum, Stone Store Museum, The Motor Transport Museum and the Camp Lockett Equestrian and Event Facility, with FREE museum admission.

The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum features classic train ride excursions, vintage train displays, and regional railroad history.  The Gaskill Brothers Stone Store was a central hub of commerce, travel and cattle ranching from the 1860s through the 1920s.  Inside you’ll learn of the area’s rich Indigenous, ranching, and military history.  The Motor Transport Museum is housed within an old Feldspar Mill.  Learn of the area’s rich mining history and enjoy a wide array of vintage transport vehicles.  Camp Lockett Equestrian and Event facility lies on the grounds of the historic military outpost of Camp Lockett.  It was the last training facility constructed for mounted calvary units in Southern California.  The museum is
dedicated to the history of the famed Buffalo Soldiers.
