It’s that time of year again; the next Brakeman Class at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum is less than two months away and there are still seats available! This two-day hands-on class is offered twice a year and is the first step for those interested in becoming a volunteer for our weekend excursion train operations. The class will be held on September 8th (date changed from September 7th) and 14th. See the brakeman class webpage on our website for more information and to sign up. For those of you interested in joining or continuing to be a part of our volunteer train operations crews, here are the finalized dates for GCOR, Air Brake, and Air Brake and Train Handling classes for 2019. All classes are held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3902 Kenwood Dr., Spring Valley, CA 91977. For current train crew members, reminders for which classes you need this year will be sent out shortly by mail.
Safety and Security Class – 4 hours of instruction

General Code of Operating Rules Class – 8 hours of instruction, 1 hour lunch break

Air Brake Class (for Brakemen and Conductors) – 4 hours of instruction

Come join us for a two-day hands-on training class designed to teach you the skills you need to start volunteering in our train operations department!
