Fall 2015 Brakeman Class

Want to be a member of our operating train crews? There will be a two-day, hands-on class at the Museum in Campo, CA on October 17 and 24, 2015 where our knowledgeable instructors will show you the basics of railroading.  Students will learn essential skills like switching railroad cars, getting on and off of moving equipment, hand signals, and safety protocols.

The classes are open to anyone 16 years of age and above. However, a minimum age of 18 is required to be qualified as a brakeman. The job can be physically demanding at times, but if you are interested, please come out and take the class. We consider the traditional “brakeman” term to be gender neutral, so do not let the term scare away the ladies!

More information about the class is available at psrm.org/brakeman-class.
