The schedule for our weekend Golden State Limited vintage passenger train journeys returns to its spring schedule on Saturday and Sunday, January 10th & 11th. The Museum will be closed until the first train runs on Saturday, January 1oth. These leisurely 12-mile, one-hour trips down the mountain to Tunnel 4 and return will depart historic Campo depot at 11 a.m. & 2:30 p.m. each weekend. Reservations are not required (NOTE: members always ride the Golden State Limited for free. For more information about becoming a member, click here).
Limited opportunities are also available to ride in the vintage diesel locomotive with the engineer and help blow the engine’s horn. Seats are limited for this opportunity and advance reservations ARE required. Click “cab ride” on the calendar for the date and time you wish to ride. For groups larger than two, switching is available (for up to four people) at no extra charge. Did you purchase a coach ticket on the Golden State and want to upgrade to a locomotive cab ride? No problem! Just ask the ticket agent at the Campo Depot about upgrading your coach ticket.
